A Message from the East Corridor Project Manager Dear Stakeholders, I’d like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the countless hours that our project stakeholders and members of the public have contributed to this major milestone. The project would not be a success without your efforts. As most of you know, the East Corridor Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) began its unprecedented, grass-roots approach to public outreach back in July 2003. Our goal was to reach out to every corridor neighborhood and encourage their involvement in the EIS process to help shape the future of their communities. Through the course of the project we knocked on over 26,000 doors, held over 60 public meetings, and met with several neighborhood organizations, businesses, stakeholders, and local churches. We are proud to state that the public outreach effort has continued through this important milestone. Our success can only be measured by the level of your participation. Your involvement, through attendance at public meetings, review of project materials, and raising comments and concerns on the project, has played a critical role in the outcome and success of this project. I would especially like to thank the neighborhood leaders who encouraged their communities to get involved. I am proud of this project and what we have been able to accomplish together. I look forward to moving with you all into the next phase, and I believe that the East Corridor’s implementation will improve the quality of life of the people living and working in these communities as well as benefit the Cities of Denver and Aurora, and the traveling public.
Sincerely,
